Life is not spectator’s sport

On the road I deepened my hobby of exploring craft beer. It’s a great way to support local & get to know the places you’re in. I’ve also just become a beer nerd. Little reminder to enjoy things while you can ✨ Autumn roads 🍂 Let me be abundantly clear: I take PRIDE in Vanlife. Needed this 😌 Needed this 😌 I came across this little blurb and I think it’s something that’s really useful to keep in mind - how the writer shapes the information we get. Lived experience colours perspective and knowledge and priorities. And we should all be considering a source’s motivation this day in age anyways. Funny enough, this particular point never really crossed my mind before, I never thought that if I was engaging in content created by a guy that I might be missing out on some takes, but it makes sense. Maybe it’s the endorphins talking, but I’ve been getting back into running, and it’s making me feel like myself again. It’s making me happy, giving me purpose, gets the ball rolling on motivation, makes me feel strong. It’s reminding me who I am. Because I’ve been running my whole life, save the last year or two. It’s like coming back to myself. I let myself wither & degrade. And now I’m building it back up. Just wanting that feels amazing, wanting anything feels amazing, let alone getting out there to watch the sunrise and push myself like I used to. To the point where I’m intentionally screwing up my sleep schedule to make it happen. I’ve seen my body get stronger before, and I’m going to push it there again. I always kept Strider totally plain. Other than the Max Fan. To not stand out, not be targeted. But I couldn’t resist this sticker. Will this be a slippery slope? Time will tell. One of the beautiful things about travel, and connecting to new people/ places/ things, is the expansive effect it has on you. It can get you out of a bubble. It can help you see things differently. When your surroundings change often, you become adaptable, flexible. You seek to see things from different perspectives, because that’s part of connecting to and understanding your surroundings. And you find common threads with those you meet.
